Spread the Word To The Children

Spread the Word To The Children

You educate your young kids all kinds of manners to maintain themselves secure. You instruct them to keep an eye on the scorching stove; you teach them to gaze bilaterally prior to going across the road. Nevertheless, more frequently, body protection is not educated till the time, they grow-up; however, by then, it is every so often, exceedingly not on time. Investigations performed by the Centers for Disease Control calculates approximately that just about one in six boys and one in four girls are carnally ill-treated prior to eighteen years of age. In line with the US Department of Justice merely ten percent of doers of illegal acts were outsiders to the kid and twenty-three percent of those performing the evil acts were kids themselves.

As a matter of fact, you cannot altogether put off the threat of your kid being carnally ill-treated.

Hey! We never meant to scare you but the realities have to be faced and they are always bitter.

You have to teach as well as permit your kids to unfold themselves and interrelate with those all-around them; yet at the same time, you need to supply them with arsenal of information that might rescue them from being offended.

What Growing Up Religious Taught Me

What Growing Up Religious Taught Me

I grew up in a Christian household.

pirest familySuper conservative Christian, you ask? Well, kind of. My family is Roman Catholic. For my own reasons, I am now not a religious person. What was it like, you ask? Excessively pious? Were people sprinkling holy water everywhere?

Uh, actually, yes, my mom did sprinkle a fair amount of holy water on us. When we were teenagers, before we left to drive somewhere, she’d dip her fingers into a holy water basin and cross our foreheads with it. I was sixteen. You can imagine the embarrassment, and the whining. There was a lot of whining.

It wasn’t holier-than-thou, though, and for that I’ll always be grateful. My parents have always been pretty moderate Catholics. I grew up in an environment where I wasn’t afraid to talk about difficult things, or things that our religion didn’t believe. I did end up learning a lot, and I wouldn’t change that. Here are some of the most important things that living in a religious family taught me.

The Future of Religion

The Future of Religion

The real question to ask in life is, what is the future of religion? With new generations growing up, will God and the existence of religion or other faiths become extinct in the world?

It is hard to know the answer to these puzzling questions without fulling understanding trends and future predictions.

Nobody can predict the future, I don’t care what people claim or think; it is impossible to accurately predict what will happen tomorrow. Not everyone wants to know or has the power to hear what will happen.

The Ultimate Sacrifice

The Ultimate Sacrifice

Everyone has heard of the story of Jesus Christ sacrificing his life on the cross for the signs of everyone else. Sacrifice is not an easy thing for anyone to talk about or do.

Ultimately sacrificing your life for the benefit for others is properly the most self-less achievement anyone can accomplish. Nowadays everyone seems to be concerned with only themselves, and no one else. This type of thinking is the complete opposite of what the goal is in life.

The Purpose of Religion

The Purpose of Religion

The purpose of religion is often a widely debated subject. Many people become offended when buttons get pushed the wrong way. I remember my mother telling me at a young age, “never argue with someone when politics or religion gets brought up.” I never really understood why, but it makes sense now when you dissect each.

Politics and religion are very similar, but have two very different purposes.

This blog isn’t about politicians or the way the government is run, but it is important to understand how politics has the main function of bringing and maintaining power for government officials or other politicians in office.

Different Types of Christians, Why So Many?

Different Types of Christians, Why So Many?

Following up on the last post, let us start with the primary branches of Christianity, and it could give us a good starting point to figure out where all of this division began.

The three namely distinct branches of Christianity somewhat primarily take place in their own distinct area of the world.

Eastern Orthodoxy Christianity
– A religion that is practiced in the Slavic countries and Eastern European countries along with Russia.eastern orthodox christianity

Roman Catholicism – A well known sect of Christianity. This is who the Pope is associated with primarily.

Is Praying the Solution?

Is Praying the Solution?

kids praying   In the Catholic lifestyle that I lived in as a youth, the answer I commonly received from school teachers, my parents, and other elder figures alike when I approached them with problems was to pray and talk to God. So, like any unquestioning child of Catholic faith, I did just that. I tried to speak with God, and I tried to pray, but I never heard anything, and I never felt anything. The solutions to my problems would either not be worked out, or they would once I started to look for solutions myself. Did God guide me to find those solutions? Or was that my free will doing that?

Like I talked about in a previous post, my mother used to sprinkle holy water onto me, especially during times of struggle. She told me that she was blessing me with God’s grace and he would help guide me. Well, where that lead me in life, well, to water. In my early 20’s, I was a college dropout, working for a nearby pool service company. A life following God ended up leading me astray.

The Various Sects of Christianity

The Various Sects of Christianity

Image result for sects of christianity

There is basically a never ending list of different sects of Christianity. Some sects are people who devoutly believe exactly their sect, and have disagreements with other sects. But, with all the hundreds and hundreds of different forms of Christianity, how is anyone able to know which is right and which is wrong without actual conversation and understanding the beliefs of each one and comparing and contrasting with one another.

Another necessary point to make is how can anyone believe their specific sects of beliefs without objectively studying it and looking for historical evidence of the logic and the teachings of the people who wrote the text, and the subject matters of the text.

body blood christThere are sects of Christianity that divide themselves and their churches for things such as believing or not believing that when a religious figure blesses the sacramental bread and wine it becomes the literal body and blood of Christ. Some believe it is simply a representation of that, some take it for the literal blessing and believe it really is Jesus’ body and blood. The term for this is called transubstantiation.

So why exactly are there so many different sects of Christianity?

The Pros and Cons of Attending Catholic School

The Pros and Cons of Attending Catholic School

All right, let’s get this part out of the way.

I am an ex-Catholic. An ex-Cradle Catholic, in fact. This doesn’t mean that I harbor any sort of animosity towards religion. In fact, I’ve met a lot of very wonderful religious people, whom I respect very much. It makes me happy to see people who are kind to others, regardless of their differing beliefs. I’ve encountered quite a few Catholics, Christians, etc. who are truly humble, and do not believe that their beliefs are “better” than anyone else’s.

That being said, organized religion    really isn’t for me.

I went through the motions in grade school, but had so many questions that I felt weren’t answered well enough. By the time high school and college came around, aspects of my religion conflicted with some of my core values, and I felt like a hypocrite going to Church. I asked myself: If my values were in total opposition to the Church’s, why was I there?

It was a confusing time. I came away with positive things I learned, and a few negatives as well. I thought I’d share a couple of the pros and cons I encountered throughout my six years of Catholic school.

Providing, Not Just Praying

Providing, Not Just Praying

One of the core principles that is taught by the Christian Jesus is the focus of helping those that are less fortunate than their selves. This principle has gone astray from many devoted Christians who do most of their Christian related work by donating to their tax-exempt Churches instead of doing their part in participating in the teachings of Jesus.

homeless christians helping the poor

The type of Christians that everyone in the world can accept as good people are those that do their part to help those around them that could use it. There are many Church organizations that help build homes and provide for children and the homeless. In Northern California, I had the chance to see first hand Modesto concrete contractors financed by a local church organization set up four concrete walls and a roof to create a shelter for the homeless to sleep and pray. Activities such as building homes for others, feeding, and clothing people are some of the admirable things that some church organizations are capable of, and should focus on.

The Religious Way

The Religious Way

Were you born believing in God? Do you feel compelled to praise a higher being? Do you have faith? Have you read the bible completely? Where do people go when they die?

These are all common questions I’ve had growing up.

Hello, I’m Peter and I’m originally from Minnesota, but currently living in San Diego at the moment. Quite a drastic change, living in one of the coldest states to one of the best beach cities on the west coast.
